About
I am Jasmine Carriker, a photographer based in Oklahoma and a member of Cherokee Nation. My work explores the quiet edges of rural towns in Indian Territory and hidden stories that emerge after dark. My work documents the glow of neon signs, the flickering of half-lit buildings, and the calm presence of spaces that most overlook. Through my photography, I capture what light reveals in the darkness.
These images reveal the sense of quiet resilience and uncertainty that runs through rural Oklahoma. In these collections, I invite you to witness what I see: a desperate cry in small towns, where people hold on amid the slow erosion of what they've known, and a history that is both painful and beautiful. As a member of Cherokee Nation, I acknowledge that these lands are shaped by the history and ongoing presence of Native communities, whose stories are an essential part of Oklahoma's past and future.
